When his son Jett was diagnosed with anxiety at 3, Stuart decided he needed to learn as much as he could about mental health, so he and his wife Emily knew how to best support him.
After spending a number of days meeting with a number of professionals (child psychologists, OT’s & Pediatricians,) at The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, four discoveries were made that would change this family’s life forever.
We knew mental health in adults was a growing problem, but were alarmed to learn 1 in 4 kids were suffering from mental health issues. That is 25% of all children.
The second discovery was the lack of resources available for children suffering from mental health under the age of 8. There wasn’t anything available for their son Jett or for kids of a similar age.
The third discovery was since 2016, multiple credible sources were calling for a tech solution to help combat the growing mental health crisis.
As a developed country, Australia is consistently discovering cures for cancers and other major diseases, yet people and our children suffering from mental health was rising every year. We knew something was fundamentally broken.
